We Team Growers of York University C4 capstone project, are a group of highly motivated collaborative and hard-working students who wish to help the Woburn community of Scarborough regarding their food insecurity challenges! Our project involves collaborating with Team Maintainers in planting crops at Woburn Collegiate Institute alongside empowering and inspiring the Woburn community by interviewing the community members!
Project Manager
Mahmoud is a mechanical engineering student. After doing his capstone project in 2022, Mahmoud decided to build on his management skills by taking a group manager position. He is passionate about integrating his engineering skills into real world scenarios especially in humanitarian cases. Mahmoud wishes that his teammates work seeds blossoms into something that helps and bring the community together.

Mae recently completed her Bilingual Honours Degree in International Studies. She is interested in transformation towards sustainable society, enhancing food insecurity, and engaging with community members. She hopes to continue her passion by joining C4 while developing her project management skills.

Florencia is in the visual arts program with specialized honours. She is passionate about various forms of artistic mediums including classical and digital, which ranges from printmaking, sculpture, and painting, to video editing, graphic design, and photography. She joined C4 to help improve and apply her skills in design while learning how to work with a group. During C4, she has gained experience in problem-solving and communicating with team members while building on new skills, such as graphic design for the project website. She hopes that her team’s hard work and efforts can influence future C4 students just as much as they influenced her. development goals, while developing new skills and giving back to the community. During the course of the project, she demonstrated great teamwork and collaboration skills, and developed her interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.

Ebrahim is an international student in a specialized honors biotechnology program whose general interest is in molecular biology and genetics. During his undergraduate study at York University, Ebrahim has acquired collaboration and communication skills, and he has a motivated and team player attitude to complete tasks and achieve goals. Furthermore, he likes helping people out, so he joined C4 to help his team to make a difference in the society. He also wishes to further improve his skills and gain experience in a team-work environment. During his C4 journey, Ebrahim has learned what it means and what it takes to work as a successful and efficient team to achieve the project goal. Most importantly, he also learned that in order to make a significant impact on a community, perseverance and a great dedication of hard-work are needed to deliver it as best as possible. Ebrahim hopes that his team’s hard work and dedication will leave a tremendous impact on the community.

Sana is a mechanical engineering student who is passionate and committed towards exploring design solutions to optimise the automotive industry. She is deeply inclined towards developing her critical thinking skills in her undergraduate journey. Sana joined the C4 program to challenge herself in applying her skills in a real world scenario. She also wishes to further improve and develop her communication and collaborative skills that would come in handy later on in her career while also hoping to leave a positive impact in the community.
